Welcome! Griblo is our training Purser but Herman would be welcome to be an assistant Quartermaster to the current NPC with potential for promotion later. Feel free to join in any of the Mettle threads that are Open. Their timeline order currently is Mettle, Mettle: Indiscipline, and A Sandy Giftsgiving. In Mettle you'd be able to meet Griblo and Brasseye if you'd like to assume Herman already signed up before the voyage began. We can chat in the BlackShip Discord channel further if wished

Anise is on the BlackShip as study abroad program (or aboard, as it turns out) from the University of Length. She has aspirations of being the Surgeon's Mate, but I think Cabin Beast will fit her fine for now. She'll be joining the ship after the events of Mettle and I'll have an intro thread up when I can. ^^

Welcome to Anise! Glad to have her

Excited to see the intro thread! One thought is that she possibly could pop up during the Mettle timeline as the voyage itself hasn't long been going and it's going to be going on for a while longer so there could be some chronology/character building issues if it's set after the whole trip, depending on how vague people keep stuff. It's one reason I'll avoid doing big arcs too often so we don't shut new ship characters out too much! If you're still keen to set it after, it's doable, there just may be some relationship wibblies along the way XD​
