A venerable 74-gun third-rate ship of the line that has served the Imperium since the 1720s and one of the first to undergo Imperial modernization efforts with the addition of a prototype steam engine and cannon.

Brought back out of retirement, the BlackShip is a traditional 120-gun first-rate beast-o’-war. Though slower than other ships like the more modernized Hide, she packs significantly more firepower to make up for it, and only a fool would engage her without a solid plan.
