Physical Description
Most of Lorcan’s fur is a rich golden-red with darker limbs and ears, a pale throat, chest, jaw and (scruffy) chin, and a white-tipped tail ringed with that same black. His tailbrush is particularly thick-furred. His eyes are a dark bistre like his father’s, speckled around the cheeks and muzzle with a smattering of paler freckles like his mother.
The todd dresses simply, most often seen sporting anything sleeveless such as light waistcoats or specially-hemmed old coats, with wraps on both paws as well as the arm guard for his archery. If it is cold he might throw on a woollen cloak, but everything is belted securely with the tools of his trade always to paw.
Primarily Lorcan’s seen in possession of an immense six-foot warbow and a variety of suitable arrows with varying functions. The arrows for the most part are plain and flighted with gull feathers, but a pawful are flighted with the feathers of a golden eagle. At his hip he carries a short blade for close encounters.

Personality
A decent conversationalist after years of hanging around the dock, he can be engaging when he wants but is new to the scope and bustle of such a large place as the Imperium. This often leads to misunderstandings or overwhelm, and a potential for trouble when it comes to the higher classes of nobility. Save for his weaponry he isn’t especially materialistic, and seems unconcerned with rips, tears, stains, or indeed general manners and deference to rank.
At heart he is rather unsure of himself, and over-compensates with his attitude, but ultimately is well-meaning and keen to find like minds. Though efficient and a good worker when given something to do, particularly when it comes to work with his paws, his respect for authority is minimal and he’s full of the ignorance of youth - and the presumption of immortality which comes with it. Power and status mean little to him, but legend and fame? Now that is something to strive for.
Strengths
It can be both a blessing and a curse that he seems almost fearless. Impulsivity makes him decisive, and though he is green to real combat it would be no stretch to imagine him someone competent in a crisis. He possesses a keen wit, hampered by his temper, and though not inclined to academics speaks with reasonable eloquence thanks to his father. He’s an instinctive sailor with a good intuition. He possesses a solid knowledge in identifying poisonous herbs and plants.
Weaknesses
Though a decent storyteller, his charisma can stumble due to his sheltered life and lead to misunderstanding phrases or certain cues – especially those relating to etiquette or city living. He has never felt romantic attraction and would not know what to do with such a feeling. He tends to have relied on his sister for advice or financial support in the past, considering his struggle to maintain employment.
Archery takes a strain on his body, and though powerful he suffers aches and pains after prolonged use of the warbow in particular. He’s agile enough for climbing and working, but by no stretch would anyone call him acrobatic. Though a decent sailor, he works by instinct and struggles to find an accessible way to understand such matters as the technical aspects of navigation. Despite his relative size, and family reputation, he is not best known for holding his drink, and has coasted for some time on his intimidation: he will have to learn to handle when beasts remain unmoved.
History
The twins being older and more inclined to adventures he was too small for, he grew up often trailing after his older sister Ditty and formed a close bond with her. Lorcan forgave most of her overbearing behaviour, keen to impress – a habit which never truly left regardless of his parents’ efforts to ensure they got along smoothly. He grew to learn the arts of sailing and archery from his parents, finding his own niche with an interest in craft and maintenance of the small family ketch.
When he was 13 his older sister, emboldened by the adventures of their half-siblings once they had flown the nest, decided to steal away in a dinghy. At once he elected to follow her, of a rebellious age and keen to see what else was out there. They made it a reasonable distance to another island, but in doing so crossed paths with a band of pirates. That he couldn’t protect his older sister from the wound she received, and that they needed a rescue from their parents, has never left his memory. He vowed to himself that he would not be so ill-prepared again. He’d not let his family down.
It came as some surprise thereafter that throughout his teenage years Lorcan didn’t seem to stop growing. At least a good head taller than the rest of the household, it became evident that he was going to become a solid beast. He leaned fully into this, taking his archery training to its fullest extent and earning a reputation with visitors as a decent enough boxer. His “uncle” Kiptooth was enlisted to educate him on stitching and cleaning wounds so that he could patch himself up appropriately after bouts, as by now it seemed that managed trouble was the only way to keep him out of worse. He began to hang around the docks when traders would pass by, listening to their tales and offering to repair their sails, rigging and deck rails to make some small income. Now and again he would be employed with loading or longer-term repairs, but would often end up in fights or arguments which led to termination of the contracts.
Now 23, fired up by the prospect of adventure and settled on the truth of his parents’ stories (though unable to understand their reasoning when it came to retirement), the fox has eagerly joined his sister again on another trip. He is determined, this time, to make it work.
