Open The Docks Chained Sun - Foreign Pirates

Dusk smiled, turning to her husband. "Why of course, husband dearest. He's all yours." She put her paw on his upper arm, letting the digits wrap around his coat. "Just like you're all mine." She let her claws dig in a little bit, sure they wouldn't be nearly as sharp as her words.

Talinn winced sligthtly at the rebuke from Dusk, knowing full well what she meant. Just as the contract these two beasts would sign would bind them to the Navy and their discipline, he was bound by a similar contract in their marriage. And worst of all, he entirely deserved it. He could have taken the riskier option, even if it might have cost them everything in the end, but when push came to shove that fateful Frimary day a decade ago, he had backed down. He had compromised. And he had been paying the price ever since, tolerated at best, hated at worst, by both his own family and the Imperium at large. He just hoped it was worth it at the end of the day.
