PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
As beautiful as her mother in her prime, but not even half as insane, Zara is slender and voluptuous (within vulpine parameters). She wears as extravagant clothing as she can afford, especially to enhance the reputation of the brothel she runs, lace more often than silks; feathers; sequins; whatever she desires or is requested by chosen clients.
PERSONALITY:
Product of a deranged vixen and a nameless father, Zara, like her sisters is a survivor. She learnt to use guile and wiles, and any means necessary to get to the place she is today. She is practical but with a romantic streak; volatile; manipulative; and greedy. Zara likes shiny things, security, and control. She is fiercely protective of her workers, so long as they follow her rules. Rarely gives something for nothing, unless she feels it is deserved.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born 14th February 1733 to the once Kreehold Witch, Layla Raposa, Zara spent her earliest years in her mother's inn room in the Slups. Being 'raised' would be a generous word, considering how poorly her mother was able to attend to her. The addled vixen cared for Zara in her own way, but she was rarely present whether physically or mentally, at times very protective and overly-involved, and then entirely absent, reading fortunes, dancing off through life. Often Layla spent her time mourning the loss of Jeshal the Ironclaw and Padraig Kesey, both of whom she had obsessed over in one way or another. Zara's father was an unknown, a visitor to the tavern Layla had once coaxed to bed, a mystery entirely. Quietly, little Zara hoped the todd was at least still alive, dreaming that he was a rich fox somewhere out there without a clue he had fathered her.
It was the tavern itself that raised Zara. The workers watched out for her, most of them kindly enough. She learnt a lot about life simply watching or helping out for coins or food. She also learnt how to pilfer a few coins when the opportunity presented.
Life turned harsh once she reached 15 years, civil war exploding across the Imperium. The inn was subject to several attacks and Zara did not always get through them unscathed. A year later, her mother was seized by disgruntled thugs for her associations with anarchist Padraig Kesey. Layla found sanity enough to discourage Zara from helping her, feigning that she had no daughter and that she could make her own way as a grown vixen now. With the absence of her mother, other beasts reduced their charity to Zara and she was forced to find ways of paying her way through life, surviving between streets and tavern jobs, whether at tables or in beds.
She was 21 when the Empress fully secured the Imperium, at which point there was a boom in Zara's work, although a touch more volatile for a few years considering the number of fighters without a war to wage. Her skills allowed her to climb the ladder, however, building herself a steady family among the femmes of the night and improved clientele.
By the age of 30 she achieved the heights of her success. Zara opened up her own companion-house/brothel as Madame of the House of Respite in the Trenches, designed to appeal to all echelons of society. She herself still continued to accept clients, but always her own pick and usually at higher prices, depending on the desire. At last, she has found herself in her prime, with the best chance of getting what she wants in life, save the prejudices surrounding her.
