Rainblade-Ryalors Open Vulpinsula & Surroundings Westisle Cultural Appreciation Day

Kaii in the meanwhile noted Pomodu displeasure with the title, pondering behind the reasonings. Even if her father have died, she still would be a princess de jure. Maybe it was something about the local culture he just couldn't understand.

"But of course. My sincerest apologies miss Pomodu. I didn't wish to bring upon you any displeasure." He provided a short bow at the end, showing his respect, even if her abandonment of a title meant he was the most noble of the three. Kaii fortunately couldn't care less for his own title.

"Kerney asks a good question. Why choose Bouillabaisse Harbour then?" Kaii added to the topic on paw.

(Open to interaction for any of our newer players who are looking for threads, or, if not, this will be a vignette).

In the middle of the festivities, a young vixen, barely into her adult years, happily munched down on the takoyaki stick that she held in her right paw, being careful not to get any of it on the elegant blue kimono with gold fringes that she wore. She would have been a classic Southern with well-groomed fiery red contrasted by deep blue eyes, if not for the fact that she was a bit tall and underneath the coverings had quite a large amount of firm, well-honed muscle, and for the fact that attached to her waist was the traditional daishō of the warrior class. That was, however, an anomaly, given that instead of the traditional katana, it seemed she had matched the traditional dagger with a larger odachi instead. Finishing off her treat, she aimed at a local wastebin, and gracefully arced the stick into it, before withdrawing a hankerchief and wiping her paws. She smiled softly as she returned the hankerchief to within her kimono, and began to walk down the cobblestone streets of this strange, foreign land that preoccupied so much of her family's time, her sandals quiet on the ground as she did so. Spotting an alley, she slipped into it, keeping watch at its entrance. Within moments, there were two light thumps behind her, though she did not turn around.

Hime…” one of the two foxes, clad in a mixture of black and gray and kneeling behind her, reported respectfully in a hushed tone “...we have located the targets and their location, but not all of them have arrived at the meeting yet. We believe there should be about twenty, but only sixteen have arrived. Should we move on them to prevent any difficulties now? Your father did not want to risk any disruptions to the festiv-.”

A strange smile flicked across the vixen’s face as she held up one paw slightly, and the beast immediately quieted.

“We will wait until they have all arrived, and have almost concluded their meeting. It is best to let the frog boil in the well, is it not? My father, Kitsune bless him, is old, and a bit out of practice-of course, this is not his fault, being so busy with other matters. When the time is right, I will handle them.”

Hime, taking on all of them alone, even for-”

“Hiro.” She cooed sweetly, but with just the slightest hint of something beneath the surface.

As you command, Hime.”

As suddenly as they had arrived, the two foxes seemed to have disappeared, and she stepped out back into the streets to continue her search for treats as she awaited the appointed time humming an ancient Fyadoran tune, although these were just appetizers to what she really hungered for.

I cannot wait for the real feast to begin.

@Aramaeus Lemon

Orina looked pointedly at Aramaeus as he continued with his lie, smile hovering on her lips. She quirked a brow at his change of subject. "Oh, I've traveled for my work over the years and have sampled quite a bit of what various cultures have to offer, including that of Fyador. You'd be surprised what you can learn from open cultural exchange." Pulling the book that had caught the todd's interest from the shelf, she tilted her head towards the register.

"How about this, Antony of the Ministry of Commerce: I buy this book for you and introduce you to a few of my friends I will be meeting for lunch. If we all take a liking to each other, I can get you into some of the exclusive rooms at the event tonight. Perhaps you can make some connections that will provide you with opportunities to get further up in Commerce than accounting."

@Mileya Ryalor

"It seeming hard, having a mother who was so important but not having many memories of her." Asta followed along behind Mileya once more in the song, ending her harmony as she once more began to memorize the notes the vixen played. "Daniil also having a hard time, it seems. I knowing places in the city named after Vaelora, but to you and Daniil, she was just your mother. Caden, too, with his mother being important beast, but he not remembering everything about her, or remembering different things than what other beasts think of her."

Asta paused, looking away across the open square as she thought. "I not remembering much of my mother, either. I remembering her being sick and sad, I remembering her music and the feeling of her, being close and warm and safe." She shook her head and blinked away wetness in her eyes. "What I knowing mostly from stories my father telling. I wishing sometimes I had siblings like you. You and Daniil and your brother having each other through everything, ja?"

@Daniil Ryalor

Caden held the todd close, hoping to convey as much comfort and reassurance as possible through the embrace. "It's a lot, being a Ryalor. It makes sense you're tired, Daniil. I would be, too." He stroked a paw over top Daniil's head and down his neck in a soothing pat. "You don't have to figure it out right now, but maybe there's another role you could play in your family. If the one you've chosen weighs so heavily on you...perhaps there is some other way you can protect your family without needing to take a life for duty and honor."
