Skills System Update
Based on player feedback, we have made changes to the skill system in an effort to increase the amount of lower level skills available as well as balance higher level skills. We have changed the cost of various skill point levels to reflect this. The soft and hard caps remain the same, as do the cost for skill points (5k influence points per skill point up to soft cap, 10k influence points per skill point after the soft cap up to the hard cap), but you should find it easier to have a wider variety of skills and especially hobbies for your characters.
Some key points include:
An updated Character Creation Template, which you can now copy and paste from the code in the thread.
An updated Character Skill System with:
-The new skill point values, adjusted to allow players to have a fair amount more of lower level skills.
-An explanation of specialized vs generalized skills, with examples.
-An explanation of what skills to use for a "commander" type character, who might command NPCs.
-An explanation of how disputes are resolved with skills, both in a link to the dispute resolution thread, and examples throughout the guide.
You will have to redo your character templates, but, this should be relatively easy as it is simply playing around with points, and this will not be touched again for quite some time, if ever.
