PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Ronan always dresses well, often in waistcoats, cravat and breeches with a suitable tailcoat over the top. His wardrobe is expansive, covering varying styles, cuts and colours. He does not skimp on quality, and even at his most casual will still ensure that the cut of each loose billowy shirt looks suitably dashing.
It’s becoming increasingly obvious that Ronan needs glasses, but he remains too vain for such things and so carries an ornate pinchbeck quizzing glass on a black ribbon about his neck, usually tucked beneath his clothing. At his waistband hangs a chatelaine in the shape of blooming snowdrops attached to the chains of which hang several useful items for his day-to-day work. At his hip rests a rapier, though many contest it is simply for show.
PERSONALITY:
At his core there’s a pettiness and a ruthlessness about Ronan which, it seems, is entirely wasted due to his apathy towards ambition and preference to have a good time. He’s an affable sort, good-natured and fun-loving with a penchant for the dramatic, though considering his choice of Ministry it’s evident that he will turn a blind eye to some of the world’s injustices, at least. Morals are just finicky like that.
At work he’s competent as an aide with the ability to anticipate needs, organise clearly and delegate tasks whilst furthering the Misanthropy mission. This is all, however, frustrated by the fact that he’s a relentlessly opinionated, snarky chatterbox with a tendency to blab the odd state secret or two. Indeed, it’s difficult to tell whether the todd’s popularity in the office is down to his friendly nature or a desperation to keep him from leaving the building and sowing chaos: several agents have taken to using feeding him false information and watching the spread. Once or twice his scathing commentary and rolling eyes have landed him in hot water but, due to the discretion of his superiors (and the fact that, come on, it was funny), he seems to have come to no real harm as consequence.
Off-duty Ronan is much the same friendly todd albeit freer to enjoy his own messier private life. Loyal to his friends and willing to give what he can to those closest to him, he can be a kind companion but that does not make him particularly responsible. He spends his money as soon as it comes in and has little shame in flirting to get the odd drink or two for free. Indeed, shame seems to rarely touch him: the fox possesses a litany of embarrassing stories from his own mistakes throughout the years he will happily recount and, provided his appearance isn’t slighted, seems thoroughly unruffled by insults. Outwardly, at least. Insult his looks, however, and the gloves are off.
Though popular amongst other males, he seems to only find misfortune in romance beyond a night or two of passion and takes solace in the worlds of novels and performances. At least the ideal beast can exist in fiction.
STRENGTHS:
Ronan is good with beasts, both in terms of communication and personal assistance. Quick off the mark and perceptive to mood changes within the delicate arts of conversation (if only he could keep his mouth shut to negotiate it properly), he’s learned to adapt to the changing needs of his Minister. As such he has schooled himself on the importance of everything from room décor to personal grooming, note-taking and the various initiatives within the organisation. If one needs anything from re-pinning an accessory in the middle of a meeting to reciting the initiatives for the woodlander-inclusive charter he's your todd.
For all his loose-lipped behaviour he is also adept at collecting information. Being disarming a soul as he is, the todd’s friendly demeanour and willingness to engage with most any beast means he has a wide web of connections throughout the city. Loyal to those he bonds with, he’s a protective and generous friend with a wicked sense of humour.
He also considers himself something of a jack of (some) trades. Many of his dates have been with beasts enthusiastic about their craft or interests, and though the todd cannot claim to be particularly good any of them, he’s familiar at least with the concepts of anything from cooking to sewing to lockpicking. Of all the skills, it seems like he’s picked up a little combat training along the way.
WEAKNESSES:
Loyalty tends to run paw-in-paw with recklessness and Ronan will swift become, as the kits say, a “ride or die” style of friend. If he finds you insulted or upset you need say no more, for he will have them put on a MAUL hitlist whether you wanted such or not. He gets himself and those he spends time with into scrapes far more often than he’d admit, often caused by this overzealousness. He is also not one for apologising often, easily finding airy ways to blame the circumstances rather than himself. He spends money faster than he can earn it and is often teetering on the edge of losing his flat.
A natural gossip, Ronan not only tends to overshare about work but himself, a full-on personality which can become readily overwhelming to quieter souls. Confidence seems to run in the todd’s veins with his willingness to engage any beast or talk about himself, but there’s a certain absence of depth. He runs from romantic possibilities for fear of commitment, despite pining for such connection himself, and has come to perceive his handsome appeareance as his only valued asset.
BIOGRAPHY:
Whatever was contained within that missive seemed to secure the young todd both a spot in Misanthropy’s offices (and a rather generous amount of patience from the Minister). Clearly unsuited for field work he began as a secretary and rapidly climbed the ladder due to his enthusiasm and foresight. His talents, it seemed, lay in organisation and public image. Surprisingly productive despite his clear dislike for hard graft, he quickly found a place working for Minister Dusk Rainblade as her personal assistant and has been doing everything from ensuring her socks are darned to tracking meeting minutes and torture lists ever since.
