Naval Ranks of the Imperium
Ship Specific
Captain: Assigned by the Ministers and serving in the name of the Empress, they are responsible for captaining the ship and whose authority is generally respected even by those who are higher ranking onboard.
First Mate: Responsible for the safety and security of the ship and next in line in the chain of command.
Second Mate: The third in command and typically the navigation officer.
Bosun/Engineer: Sees to the maintenance of the components of the ship, most importantly its hull, cannons, and steam engine.
Quartermaster: Responsible for the logistics of the ship, ensuring the crew have enough food, ammunition, et cetera.
Aide-De-Camp: Personal aide to the Captain.
Chief Cook: Responsible for preparing healthy and scrumptious victuals to the crew.
