Physical Description
Mileya Ryalor is, to those who knew Armina Rogue personally, the spitting image of the former captain and minister. Her gray fur, a color unique to northern Fyador, and long headfur that has grown out a darker shade bordering on black are both unique traits that make her stand out in a room, an asset she uses to her advantage navigating the political fray of Amarone. She tends to wear formal dresses of muted shades of green and red, finding those colors the most comforting.
Inventory and Real Estate
-A portmanteau full of expensive and fine clothing
-A small apartment in Amarone kept for use of the House Ryalor representative
-A stipend from the House for personal and travel expenses
Personality
Mileya has a bright and outgoing personality, unabashed in making her opinions known and in staring down those who would attempt to diminish her and her House. She's actually caused a few minor diplomatic incidents by using her tongue too sharply, leaving other dignitaries at court flat-footed and embarrassed. Fortunately this all seems to be to the amusement of the Empress, who has quietly intervened to keep Mileya from being replaced with another, less entertaining ambassador. Outside of court, Mileya is deeply fond of her brother Daniil, and goes to great lengths to try to bring him out of his shell, taking him to parties and to private clubs in an attempt to socialize him.
Strengths
Mileya is very much a social butterfly, thriving on both conversation and confrontation alike. Trained for the court by her aunt, the Duchess Dusk Rainblade, she thrives in the interpersonal dynamics of the court, wielding a waltz or a word with equal impact.
Weaknesses
Mileya is known to sometimes be a bit imprudent as to whom she embarrasses at court, and fails to pick her battles quite as wisely as she should. There have been a few occasions that have led to actual shouting matches between the lady and other dignitaries at court, much to the embarrassment of House Ryalor. She continues to take lessons in proper communication with her aunt, travelling occasionally to Bully Harbor to meet with the Minister of Misanthropy in the privacy of her office.
History
Mileya was born the youngest child of three to a House Ryalor soldier and a devoted servant of the family. Shortly before her birth, her father died in action fighting for the House's cause; her mother was allowed to convalesce in her grief in the family estate in Eastisle, and was treated with care by the Ryalors, who saw to it that she and her kits had what they needed. Mileya formed tight bonds with her older brothers Valin and Daniil, and the three were doted on by their mother, who did her best to hide from them her worsening health as an incurable condition and her grief both ate away at her.
Eventually, their mother succumbed to her illness, and the three became wards of House Ryalor. They were taken to the Vulpinsula with the bulk of the House circa 1733, where they were introduced to the Princess Vaelora Ryalor. In part due to her strong resemblance to their mother, the three bonded quickly with her, and Vaelora grew even fonder of them, moving quickly to take them under her care and even adopt them as her own children. For nearly a year, the three knew security and love in her care as Vaelora did everything in her power to protect and care for the three.
The days of peace came to a terrible end on Thermidor 17, 1734. An anonymously published pamphlet titled "The Ryalor Threat" circulated around Bully Harbor, whipping up a mob intent on massacring the Ryalor family in vengeance for their supposed betrayal of the Imperium. In a desperate bid to save her family, Vaelora surrendered the royal titles and Fyadorian citizenship of herself and her kits. It was not enough; she was found that night murdered, a dagger in her back. Minister of War Nadia Darkon quickly moved to take the three kits into her protection, lest the unknown assassin come for them as well.
After discussion among themselves, the three kits eventually resolved to make their way back to Fyador. They snuck aboard The Golden Hide, planning to sneak off in a foreign port and stowaway on a ship bound for Eastisle, but were instead found by the ship's crew. Resolving to do something to mend the shattered relationship with House Ryalor, the Hide approached Eastisle under flag of truce and delivered the three kits to the care of Talinn Ryalor and his family, who vowed to raise Princess Vaelora's kits as their own.
Valin, Daniil, and Mileya were raised as princes and princesses of the realm, despite not being of noble birth and therefore ineligible for the throne. Valin grew up to study law and administration, and became a local governor in Eastisle (later renamed Westisle). Daniil trained with the sword, intent upon protecting the family from any and all threats. Mileya, for her part, studied diplomacy and speechcraft, becoming an envoy to foreign nations on behalf of House Ryalor and, following the merger with the Imperium, a representative of the House in Amarone. Trained by her Aunt Dusk, she's become a quick-witted, though somewhat intemperate, voice for House Ryalor's interests, making allies and enemies alike at court. Fortunately she has the good sense not to cross the Empress herself, and has made herself amusing enough that Her Imperial Majesty has decided to keep Mileya around, if only to liven up the stodgy atmosphere at court. With the inevitable slow build of tensions between the throne and the Ryalors, time will tell how well Mileya can manage her family's interests.
