Information How to Use Chapters-For Arcs and Within Threads

What are Chapters?

Chapters are a new feature on the VI to help you organize arcs and threads, by enabling you to label threads as chapters in an arc, or break up a long post, with, say, multiple characters or parts into easily clickable chapters. This will allow people to quickly and easily read and catch up on things relevant to them.

How to Use Chapters (For Arcs):

First, I'll show you how to use chapters to tie in threads to an overarching arc.

First, make a regular post, then, click the manage chapter button that should appear to the right of the post.



Once you have done so, you will be greeted with this screen.

This turn this thread into an "Overview" Thread, that will give an overview of your arc.

But wait, nothing changed?



That's correct, you need at least two threads to have it show up. Let's add another thread, this time with the create a new thread feature.


(I messed up here when writing the guide, pretend the Chapter Title says Talinn Loves Cookies Chapter One)

Now you have the overview for your arc (you can post this in Bilge OOC), and the first chapter, that people can click.

Now you're ready to create organized arcs seamlessly!

How to Use Chapters (Within A Thread)
You can also use chapters to divide the first post of a thread into various parts to organize people, provide overviews, or separate stories and points into various chapters. This is very simple to do. You can use the BBcode to get it to work. Let's try it.

Now you can click on a portion of the post that is relevant. This, for example, is the introductory post.



But what if we want to learn about Dusk's alt problem? That's simple, click on the it to see what it reveals.


And, as you can see, it takes you to the next chapter within your post.


You can also simply hit the next chapter button here to go on through a post when you are ready.
