PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
A tall, hale and hardy beast—
never to be confused with hearty—Freya is most often found with a dour expression, be it idle or forced by situation. Her piercing, stormy golden eyes add no relief to the look with a tendency to stare straight through a beast. Luckily, any and all manner of wrinkle caused by such an expression are hidden beneath the heavy layers of her winter coat, thick no matter the time of year. In it, rusty grey mixes with snowy white and a few hard accents of black to be found at the tips of her ears, her short bobbed-tail, and protruding from the bottom of her prominent ruff. Across her already broad frame it makes her seem nearly half-again as large as she truly is—with exception to her paws, which really are that big.

Normal clothes as an already massive Wildcat are simply out of the question; most of her clothes are pawcrafted. Most often Freya can be found in a fur-lined leather vest and belted pants, but on occasion she'll wear a jacket on a particularly windy or wet watch.

PERSONALITY:
Looks can be deceiving; while most often found with a frown she's not actually a dour individual. At heart one finds that Freya is quite devoted to her crew and ship, loyal and willing to pull out all the stops to help her crew-mates. Even if the paw offered comes with an attached resting-beast-face.

STRENGTHS:
Unflappable
Calm in Chaos
Physically Strong
Time-tested Sailor

WEAKNESSES:
Of Few Words
Heavily-Accented Vulpinsulan
Weak Reader
A Bit Headstrong

BIOGRAPHY:
(May change with new information regarding the Northlands and the Land of Ice and Snow)
Born in the Land of Ice and Snow, deep in the Frigid Circle, Freya was raised by a pair of Lynxes that she barely remembers now. Only simple tidbits of this life remain cemented in her mind. Cold, long nights around the fire, huddled together for warmth and watching the f'sh jerky dry. Playing with bits of coral and bone among the sides of their igloo, and a pawcrafted doll held tight in the night.

When the famines of the 1740s hit, Ma and Da were early to suffer. As days of of less food turned into months, it wasn't long before something had to be done. So, with their tribe, it fell to one last raid. They had no choice but to bring brought young Freya, of only 7 years, on. The fateful run was done on a trader supply ship traveling from Caer Eira Haf towards Masnach—hoping to hit it before they fell within range of the "Stwffio".
But things didn't go according to plan. The vessel was more prepared than it had any right to be, backed by early Vulpinsulan protectors. Gunpowder flashed, cutlasses shone bright in the long night's moonlight. The Tribe was routed back to the Land of Ice and Snow, or worse—cut down where they leapt onto the deck. Little Freya, clinging to the back of her father, fell where he did and tumbled off into the deck. As she rose to unleash her might on the vessel, she instead... got clobbered and stuck in a barrel.
After chomping on several hands and one leg, the little koshka was pacified with a piece of non-f'sh meat.
Not sure what to do with her, eventually it was decided that Freya would be taken in by a ragtag pair of merchants on the vessel: the McFjorls, an older lesbian couple of an Otter (Bronwen) and an Ermine (Niamh) living in Llynnau Rhewlif. A young Freya, confused but no longer alone, thought them nice beasts because they ate more than f'sh-and-nothing stew and liked her doll.

Living with Bronny and Niamh-Niamh, even during the times of the famine, was comfortable. They had a house(!) and beds(!!) and even soft, comfortable sheets to sleep on(!!!). It was through them that Freya became accustomed to sailing, greedily gobbling up every bit of knowledge they would feed her about the subject. For the McJorls were merchants foremost, selling unique goods and abundant f'sh to earn their keep. Together they would sail to Masnach to trade their goods and then, hocking interesting tales of the romance of Llynnau Rhewlif, bring tourists back for a pretty gilder.

But life and the wheel keep turning, no matter the circumstances.
In 1759, after twenty good years together, Bronwen passed peacefully in her sleep at the ripe old age of 81.
Her death was crushing for Freya and Niamh both, who relied on the old Otter's mellow mood and wisdom to keep them balanced. Additionally, Niamh was already breaking 75 and was beginning to show signs of the brain fogginess. Freya knew she had to do something drastic: it was time to live in warmer waters.

For the past (five) years, Freya has been living with Niamh in Bully Harbour, making her way first as a local dockhand and f'sh merchant before eventually joining up with the Imperial Navy. She's a well versed sailor now, with twenty-five years of experience sailing small vessels and three in larger ones. Of all the positions, she prefers to spend her time up in the rigging or on lookout... where the temperatures remind her of the Northlands.
