PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
An unassuming and altogether unremarkable specimen of his species, Eadric looks the sort who has spent much of his time reading and writing. He is neither strongly built nor particularly slender, with a softness about his middle that has come with age. Grey fur peppers his muzzle and face, and his paws have a slight tremble to them that is most noticeable when he is writing. He wears finely made but simple clothing, mostly trousers and light-colored shirts with dark waistcoats.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES:
Growing up in the shadow of his well-accomplished older brother, Eadric never fully learned the skill of having personal drive and ambition. While he could pursue his own interests with great energy and skill, anything outside that narrow skillset easily overwhelmed him, and he chooses the tack of avoidance more often than not. With somebeast to show him a clear way through and stay alongside him, he has far more confidence and capability to carry out tasks, some of which he can then master and maintain without help. It is when his capacity to focus on an interest aligns with a sensation of efficacy is when Eadric becomes a force to be reckoned with. His wit, though quiet and not often on public display, is quick and sharp. He has a stutter, which, despite being less significant than when he was a younger, greatly affects his confidence in communicating with those outside his closest social circles.

BIOGRAPHY:
Eadric Baylor Freemont was born the second son and in the shadow of his elder brother, Gordon. Much of his life was defined as being the second, the spare, and he knew instinctively he could never live up to the achievements of his brother. Where Gordon was every inch the noble beast–handsome, charismatic, athletic, and highly accomplished by every metric–Eadric was quiet and bookish, preferring to study math, history, and the sciences, rarely speaking up at public functions, as he had a stutter as a young beast that he never quite overcame even into adulthood. He attended the University in Length, graduating in the lower portion of his class, though his low marks were due more to his disinterest in studying what was expected of him and his general lack of drive rather than a reflection of his overall intelligence.

While Gordon was making a name for himself in the military, Eadric returned to Amarone and followed the path of least resistance in the Freemont family, which landed him a role in learning the intricacies of the family’s holdings and accounting. To everybeast’s surprise, the second son who had shown little interest in anything other than his own pursuits for the entirety of his life thus far, took to the finances with enthusiasm and aplomb. It did not take long for him to determine the optimal flow of investments and revenue. He would hole himself up for hours in his study, poring over documents and ledgers until he could name each of the family’s holdings down to the most insignificant of properties and knew the exact value of every single one. He knew the movement of assets to and from each branch of the family, and could spot even the most minor of discrepancies.

He found his confidence just in time for Gordon to meet his demise at the sword of Minister of War IceRain Sleet for the crime of treason in Primary of 1727. Shocked at the sudden and unexpected loss of his brother who had always been a stalwart figure of confidence standing between Eadric and the true responsibility of the patriarch of the Freemont family, Eadric likely would have not fared well or long with the weight on his shoulders had it not been for the approach of an unlikely ally.

She came from a minor Amaronian noble family, one Eadric knew of but had not had direct contact with. Despite her humble origins, Eadric soon found out Livia was a force to be reckoned with. Prior to her proposition, he had not had serious thoughts about marriage, but now with renewed familial pressure to secure himself more fully, and with Livia’s strength of character and drive, Eadric saw a path forward with the jill by his side. Together he felt they could steward the family until Caden, Gordon’s infant son came of age.

The following decades proved to be far more trying than Eadric could have expected, and he was glad for his choice in wife, for she truly was the beast who carried him through. She was there for him when Caden disappeared and the full mantle of Duke fell onto Eadric. Though he could keep the Freemont family’s finances in the black no matter the circumstances, even through civil war and regime chances, Livia truly became the face of the family and the backbone that held the Freemonts together. Together they led the family through the trials that rocked the Imperium, raising their two kits to one day inherit the heavy responsibilities of the oldest and most powerful marten family in the country.

Eadric is unsure about the return of Caden Freemont, wary of what the son of his traitorous brother and the unpredictable Nuori Sken could want after so many years gone.
