PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Amatis Moontail is a tall and fluffy wildcat with brown fur, usually dusted with at least a little bit of dirt. His thick-rimmed glasses perch imperiously on his snout, complementing his dour appearance and personality.


PERSONALITY:​

Amatis Moontail is somewhat of a loner. He would prefer to work by himself in peaceful solitude as he works on his project. Unfortunately he is forced to admit that study cannot happen in a vacuum and as a result he often pushes himself beyond what he is comfortable with in order to get what he wants, often even willing to sell his own soul (or those of others) in his pursuit of knowledge.
Despite his prickly exterior, Amatis has a soft and warm core, which he desperately tries to hide from the world. If Amatis warms to someone despite his best attempts not to, he is loyal to them through almost all, just short of betrayal itself. He has a tendency to be somewhat clingy with those that he likes, especially in social situations.

BIOGRAPHY:​

Born Macabre 2, 1733 to a middle-class family in the The Barracks and Imperial Condos of Bully Harbor, Amatis Moontail was drawn to the natural sciences at a young age. While not inside with his nose stuck in a book he was out in the patches of urban foliage looking for insects and plants while avoiding his three siblings (2 sisters, 1 brother). By far his favourite place in the whole city was the museum, where he could sit quietly and undisturbed for hours.
Upon reaching adulthood, Amatis jumped at the chance to study the natural sciences at the University of Length, with a focus on botany, seeing it as the perfect way to find a job at his favourite place in the world. During his time studying he found the solitude refreshing and he thrived locked up in his dorm, only leaving it to stroll through the wilderness or to attend classes.
Upon graduation Amatis sought out a job with the Ministry of Nicetie at the museum in Bully Harbor. Upon recieving the job he was approached by a representative of the Ministry of Innovation who had him sign a contract to share all he learns with them in exchange for allowing him to continue his work.
After years of work at the museum, Amatis grew bored of his desk job. Wishing to get his paws dirty out into the field and away from coworkers, he approached the museum board to request a position as a field natural scientist and representative of the museum. The board agreed and assigned him to the role of joining a ship, positioning him to claim the choicest artifacts and specimens in the name of the museum. He set to packing, unaware that his new position would likely require more social interaction than his previous one.
