The United Shipping and Repair Company was a shipbuilding corporation created from the merger of several smaller, failing Bouillabaisse shipyards in the aftermath of the Winter War (1733-1734). The yards had been left in a state of disrepair following the Coalition's withdrawal from the city in Merry of 1734, and remained plagued by shortages and by the dispersal of much of the local industry expertise. Looting and theft was also an enduring problem, exacerbated by the resurgence of many criminal organizations in the harbor after the end of martial law. A mercenary group, the Special Dispositional Services Corporation, was founded in part to police the shipyards.

Later in the year, a young Willard R. Brudenell would purchase controlling interest in the company (and later, through proxies, in SDS corporation as well), keeping it afloat despite continued inefficiencies and unprofitability. Like many others, Brudenell recognized that the Ministry of War would seek to recover from naval losses suffered in the disastrous early battles of the Winter War, and utilized USRC as a means of leverage over the Ministry for several years, eventually using it and other military industry under his control as a means of assuming the position of Minister of War himself.

Over the years, USRC would produce several vessels for the Imperial Navy, including the fifth-rate warship Valdez. When new ship construction was halted by Willard Brudenell not long into his term as Minister of War, it continued to be a major supplier of goods and repairs for the Navy, while returning to its roots as a builder for private interests. USRC would survive the civil war, retaining the majority of private shipbuilding capability in Bouillabaisse Harbor.

Most of its facilities and warehouses exist in the northwest of the city, near Fishminster's Dock.
