General Rules
These rules shall apply to the official VI Website and the Discord.
1. Keep your posts constructive and on the topic your post is in.
2. Excessive swearing is prohibited OOC and IC, and in IC one is to use period appropriate curse words.
3. Posting Out-of-Character (OOC) messages in a role-play thread should be kept to an absolute minimum.
4. Users will not engage in harassment and abusive behavior.
5. Users will not impersonate another writer.
6. All current political, religious, cultural, or social debates are prohibited on the board or the official Discord, it is an RP forum, not an ideological soapbox. You may discuss certain things for the discussion of history or RP inspiration, but this will be carefully monitored by staff.
7. Committing or promoting any type of illegal activity is prohibited. You will be reported if it occurs on the VI forum or in the associated Discord server.
8. Pornography, nudity, or any overt display of sexual nature is prohibited. This forum is rated PG-13.
9. Iconography or depictions of real-world extremist political groups* are prohibited. You may draw upon broader ideologies for RP inspiration, but you may not directly translate, say, Nazi Germany or the KKK into the Imperium.
*If you have a question as to what is considered an "extremist political group", ask the staff.
10. Users are prohibited from advertising external websites or services with the intention of either personal gain or distracting from the community except with the explicit permission of site administration. You may apply for such permission by asking the head administrators.
11. Users will not engage in spamming/flooding.
12. Plagiarism is prohibited.
13. Attempts to circumvent any of our security policies or rules will result in disciplinary action.
14. AI generated art or other content is strictly prohibited. You do not strictly need art to begin to roleplay, and if you do not have a lot of financial resources but still want something for your character, ask staff for a list of relatively cheap and decent artists.
These rules are subject to change without notice and the head admins may enforce additional rules at any time.
The VI Staff Team reserves the right to terminate your account for the violation of any of these rules, even at a first offense, or for any reason.
Roleplaying Rules
General Rules
Roleplay of certain controversial subjects is not allowed because it is a PG-13 forum suitable for minors. This includes rape and pedophilia/and/or sexualization of minors, including anthro characters, as such depictions may be considered legally obscene in many global jurisdictions. Excessive gore and torture are prohibited as well. If you have any questions, you may ask the site administration. The rules below are general, and additional rules may be added at any time.
PVE Rules
(1) You may not engage in large scale destruction (destroying towns or burning down large portions of towns, killing a large amount of NPCs etc, without the approval of the VI Staff).
(2) You may not command large amounts of NPCs without the approval of the VI staff.
(3) You may not "auto" or control another person's character in PVE except with the approval of the VI staff or the permission of the character's author.
PVP Rules
(1) You may not "auto" or control another person's character in PVP except with the approval of the VI staff or the permission of the character's author.
(2) You may not kill or permanently injure another person's character without their permission except with the approval of the VI staff and the explicit approval of the site administrator.
(3) NPC use in PVP will be regulated by the VI Staff, that is, using them against another player.
(4) PVP where the two sides cannot agree on the outcome, will be handled according to the the VI’s Dispute Resolution System.
