Physical Description
Kal is an average sized beast, with under-average physique for a sailor. She seems to struggle to put on the muscle, but nevertheless last two years show progress in that aspect. Her fur is light brown, naturally pretty tame, but now ever more dusty and unappealing. She dyes the fur that she keeps longer on top of her head, and her tail - an initial effort to distinguish herself from her old life, turned into a name, turned into a burden she can't really give up on. The dye job is sloppy at best, and she's not fooling anyone with it. Her usual clothing is minimalistic and light, rather unrevealing. Her left ear is pierced with a couple of metal hoops.
Inventory and Real Estate
Bit of coin she managed to earn or keep from her old life (though much of the latter was stolen in the first weeks of her life in harbor)
A simple, used sword.
A dagger.
Simple clothing (blouse, trousers, simple belt).
Some light armor pieces picked up here and there, that she used in case of more combat-risky jobs over the years.
Personality
Nowadays she tends to be pretty drawn back, non-confrontational and as bland as she can present herself to be. Sometimes, when the conversation gets going, some of her old confidence can shine through, as well as her old speech patterns and a language that clearly doesn't match the Slups. She can get pretty pessimistic quickly, when a situation demands her opinion, and while hard-working, she works to have something to occupy her mind, rather than for any other reason. She can be viewed as passive, letting the situations and crowd around her direct her life - she will engage in conversation started with her, but you'd be hard pressed to be approached by her, unless you seem like someone that has work for her.
Strengths
She's quick to adapt and learn, which has been crucial to her being still alive. She tends to look for clues in conversation, seek patterns and potential weaknesses of the other person. Given a task, she can focus on it completely and is not prone to distraction. Nihilistic approach to life has made her resistant to panic and fear of death, which can be helpful in fight and at the sea.
Weaknesses
Right now her biggest weakness is uncertainty. While she's pretty sure that her family already forgot about her, she keeps looking over her shoulder when someone keeps their gaze on her too long. So far she avoided answering a lot of questions to both others and herself, like who really is Kal, and where did she come from, so her persona is fragile and prone to inspection. This all, combined with regret of throwing away her previous life, leads her to underutilize her knowledge and talents, slowly degrading while afraid to climb the flimsy career ladder of a seabest.
History
Aline Morley was, in contrast, quite a different beast. Born into nobility and raised with great plans written all over her future. A practical, battle-hardened father, and a kind, gentle mother, gone too soon from this world. Young vixen has never faced hardships so well known to less fortunate children, but the warmth of family was gone before she could truly appreciate it. A lot of resources and time was put into her education, and only in the Imperial University she started to really consider what the life had in store for her. Her father, now less practical and more aggressive and perpetually drunk, her brothers, scattered around the Imperium, now more stranger than family. Handling the finances and mingling with nobility truly stopped being attractive to her, and in a decision that some may call foolish and light-hearted, she left her life behind to make a new one for herself.
"What can ya do, piss-tail?" A seabest looking for crew eyed her up and down. "I know Alkamarian, accounting, how to fight with a sword-" A spit on the ground from recruiter followed by a loud singular laugh interrupted Kal's words. "Oi, mademoiselle, that means you can' do nothin'. I say you go back where ya came from." The mockery in his voice echoed around, and the vixen curled up inside, as he moved on to another willing recruit.
Quickly, she learned that the less she speaks the better, and the less questions she asks, the less questions she receives. New life was brutal and unforgiving, truthfully - also filled with regrets she was too stubborn to admit. She did manage to accept it over the last two years, but it is peace coming from resignation rather than happiness. With some experience under her belt, she looks forward to finding a more permanent crew for herself.
