Physical Description

Danill is hardly the most impressive physical specimen; he doesn't rank among the tallest, nor is his build naturally that of a soldier. Even after consistent training, he remains somewhat lean, his musculature more built for speed than strength. He carries himself well, though, with consistent discipline and attention to the cleanliness of his uniform and uprightness of his posture. He also has what his family charitably calls 'resting bodyguard face', though his sister instead calls it the 'go away scowl'.

Inventory and Real Estate
-A carefully maintained dagger forged from the remains of the blade known as Enmity, once the sword of Mayor Anithias A. Freedom; a dark red stain sunk its way into the blade and has never been removed
-Crisply pressed and maintained military uniforms in the Fyadorian style, including a Fyadorian mistcloak
-An Auldarnian steel katana he has named Requiem, once belonging to his mother, Princess Vaelora Ryalor

Personality
Daniil tends toward the quiet, and many find him unapproachable; in mixed company he hovers awkwardly at the edge of the conversation, and at formal events he becomes a wallflower, lingering at the edge of the party and choosing to listen to conversation rather than partake. His family know him to be quiet, only really opening up one on one with those he trusts most; in this safe environment, he reveals a sensitivity that he keeps tucked away from the rest of the world. In another life, this might have let him to become a renowned poet, though his devotion to his martial training has precluded it in this one.
Strengths
Though not a natural warrior by aptitude, Daniil's resolve and devotion have made him adept with the blade, and his care for his family has made him a solid protector to his cousins, at least until they were grown enough to protect themselves.
Weaknesses
Daniil is not and will never be a great warrior. He knows it, and it has shown in how his aptitude has leveled out over the years despite his best efforts. Though his quiet, bookish personality could lend itself better to the literary arts, he continues to persist in a field to which he is ill-suited out of a fear of repeating the trauma of his past.
History
Daniil was born the middle child of three to a House Ryalor soldier and a devoted servant of the family. Shortly before his younger sister's birth, his father died in action fighting for the House's cause; his mother was allowed to convalesce in her grief in the family estate in Eastisle, and was treated with care by the Ryalors, who saw to it that she and her kits had what they needed. Daniil formed tight bonds with his older brother Valin and his younger sister Mileya, and the three were doted on by their mother, who did her best to hide from them her worsening health as an incurable condition and her grief both ate away at her.

Eventually, their mother succumbed to her illness, and the three became wards of House Ryalor. They were taken to the Vulpinsula with the bulk of the House circa 1733, where they were introduced to the Princess Vaelora Ryalor. In part due to her strong resemblance to their mother, the three bonded quickly with her, and Vaelora grew even fonder of them, moving quickly to take them under her care and even adopt them as her own children. For nearly a year, the three knew security and love in her care as Vaelora did everything in her power to protect and care for the three.

The days of peace came to a terrible end on Thermidor 17, 1734. An anonymously published pamphlet titled "The Ryalor Threat" circulated around Bully Harbor, whipping up a mob intent on massacring the Ryalor family in vengeance for their supposed betrayal of the Imperium. In a desperate bid to save her family, Vaelora surrendered the royal titles and Fyadorian citizenship of herself and her kits. It was not enough; she was found that night murdered, a dagger in her back. Minister of War Nadia Darkon quickly moved to take the three kits into her protection, lest the unknown assassin come for them as well.

After discussion among themselves, the three kits eventually resolved to make their way back to Fyador. They snuck aboard The Golden Hide, planning to sneak off in a foreign port and stowaway on a ship bound for Eastisle, but were instead found by the ship's crew. Resolving to do something to mend the shattered relationship with House Ryalor, the Hide approached Eastisle under flag of truce and delivered the three kits to the care of Talinn Ryalor and his family, who vowed to raise Princess Vaelora's kits as their own.

Valin, Daniil, and Mileya were raised as princes and princesses of the realm, despite not being of noble birth and therefore ineligible for the throne. Valin grew up to study law and administration, and became a local governor in Eastisle (later renamed Westisle). Mileya studied diplomacy and speechcraft, becoming an envoy to foreign nations on behalf of House Ryalor and, following the merger with the Imperium, a representative of the House in Amarone. Daniil, for his part, set aside his natural bookishness and insisted on training with the sword. His uncle Talinn reluctantly indulged this request, even though Daniil lacked either the aptitude or build to excel. Daniil trained diligently, first with the intent of finding Vaelora's assassin and avenging her death, and later, after Mayor Anithias Freedom was exposed as the mastermind and was murdered by a mob, to protect his younger cousins, the new heirs of House Ryalor. While not a natural in the role, he did at least help to protect them from a few kitnapping and assassination attempts, at least until their training eventually surpassed his own.

His cousins now all grown and superior to him in skill, Daniil requested to be reassigned to Bully Harbor, to seek out some new way to serve his House. Time will tell what direction the fox will find.
