PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
A broad-shouldered red furred fox, his fur combed into pristine condition. His claws are lightly clipped, but in a way to make them sharper instead of duller like nearly every other beast preferred them. This stands in stark contrast with his bushy tail the fur on which seemed to run every which way as if terrified of the beast they belonged to, his trapezoidal ears, and the slight but noticeable bend in his snout.
PERSONALITY:
Most beast's won't find anything in Archibald Rightsbeast. If they dared approach him innocently to strike up a conversation, they could be ignored, brushed asside, be told about Archibald's chronic boredom or disinterest in a uniquely soulless way, or if they were not that fortunate, be knocked unconscious for standing in his way. His family say that Archy is a beast like every other, a little perculiar but mostly harmless and certainly able to talk with others if everybody wasn't so boring. Others who know more about him don't want to find out for themselves if his family is telling the truth, they tempted fate enough nearly by being known by the fox. For Archibald, only things that have value are himself, his family, and whatever he or his family needed to live.
STRENGTHS:
He knows everything there is to know about slaying beasts. He has used many different kinds of weapons and armor throughout his career, and his swings are as precise as clockwork yet completely unpredictable to all but the most experienced beasts. He often finds himself in grusome and bloody scenes, yet wouldn't flinch or bat an eye at them. There isn't a thing Archibald wouldn't do to get at what he wants, when others would hesitate to do vile acts even if they were most necessary, he would do them without missing a beat and not think much of it ever again.
WEAKNESSES:
Those who know Archibald Rightsbeast know what he's capable of, those who don't get a bad feeling about him quickly. Whether it's because he gets easily irritated, always seems to be armed or wearing armor, doesn't even try showing empathy or legitimate interest in other beasts, or just his strange appearance and inappropriate expressions, nobeast wants to spend more time with him than absolutely necessary. He doesn't have friends, he only has clients and colleagues, whom he doesn't trust or rely on for a good reason. He doesn't have allies, only those who can pay him enough for his services. Causing death has taken up so much of his life that he hardly knows anything else, and his bloodlust often got the better of him, every time having to clean up another mess the best he could.
BIOGRAPHY:
The story of Archibald Rightsbeast is very disconnected. He is the only one who knows all the important details, and he has worked hard to make sure to keep the matters that way. He was born in 1738 in the slups of Bully harbor to parents Fedour and Ronda Rightsbeast. They were very strict and ambitious about their son, hoping that he was the one who would bring shine and glory back to their family's name, and go on to do great things. The young Archibald took it all in, learning how important it was to be strong, resourceful, clever, and to always do what was right for his family. But none of that alone could make him as great as his parents wanted him. He wasn't good with numbers, fast at reading or writing, he was an uncreative artist, and while he was good at sports, he wasn't good at being a part of a team or handling losses, which quickly got him thrown out of sports clubs. Fedour and Ronda haven't lost hope in him however, none of those things were truly good enough for their Archy. What they really wanted for him was a great and honorable position in the imperium, where the name of Archibald Rightsbeast, most importantly Rightsbeast, would become part of imperium history.
Archibald began his training to become a stoatorian guard when he was 17, where he discovered his love and talent for fighting and killing. He showed great enthusiasm, learned quickly, and frequently outperformed his peers. But here was also where his flaws were most obvious. He would stop at nothing to excel. He would already use dirty tricks and faint attacks in duals, which were terribly effective against the unsuspecting traineees. If he didn't win a dual, it would take at least 2 beasts to make him stop struggling and force him to conseed. In group training he would often put the whole group in danger of failing if he thought he could appear like the most competant of them all. This caused much trouble for Archibald, who was becoming unpopular with others due to his antics. This was even more trouble for the officers of the guard, who were faced with what felt like an impossible decision. In their paws was a great fighting beast, the kind that don't come by often. In their paws was also a terror from beyond the gates, a foxkit determined to bend the world and all of it to its whim, that didn't seem to care for others and could only be convinced with brute force. They were fools to let him stay, and they were fools to let him go for anyone else to use.
It took a terrible event to finally make them decide on a course of action. It was a training dual, seemingly like every other. Of course, Archibald was one of the fighters so it was going to be even less pretty than most were, but by that time the trainers were used to it. This time Archibald was fighting with somebody who was by all accounts much better than him. An officer with 5 years of experience, and very tough years at that. He also shared some of Archibald's flaws, he was as eager to prove himself as the young kit was, and he didn't try to hide it, even though his job was supposedly to show him how to improve. The dual immediately became tense, both beasts giving their bests. Archibald was good with his dodges and blocks, but his opponent was slowly gaining ground. But it only took a single mistake from the officer to make Archibald find an opening and strike, sending the bigger beast back. The fighting would have usually paused there, but the beasts just kept on swinging. The officer was enraged by the hit, and began fighting even harder. Archibald got another hit in, but at a great cost, getting beaten hard into the chest, a swing that would have killed him if they weren't using wooden swords. At this point the guards got closer, surrounding the two berserk beasts. Just as they were going to grab both and pull them apart, but they were only a split second too late, since Archibald's sword collided with the officer's snout, making him fall back and drop his weapon. Archibald struck again, and he was going to go for a third swing before he was disarmed and tied up. The officer was badly injured but more importantly was greatly offended at the outcome of the dual, and his superiors didn't think Archibald breaking the snout of a distinguished officer was a cause for reward. Thus, after a year of intense struggle, training, and confidence that he was going to become part of the elite military unit of the imperium, he was told no.
This was where, for most, the story of Archibald Rightsbeast ends. Surprisingly, the fox took his documents and few belongings and left the barracks without any incident, but then was never seen nor heard from again. This was a great relief to the stoatorian guard, who could after a few months pretend as if it was all a bad dream. Neither his parents nor relatives saw him again, but they thought he was accepted into the Stoatorian guard, and made sure to brag about it to whoever listened. Archy, however, never wrote nor visited them, nobody ever wrote to them about him. It was as if he fell through the ground.
If he fell through the ground, he must have climbed out in Alkamar, right into one of its worst crime infested districts. Most beasts' nightmare was Archibald's paradise. Nobody there spoke Alkamarian that he didn't know, they spoke violence in which he was proficient. Nobody chronicles the street fights of Alkamar, the police has long since given up. Very few present there survived to tell the tale, and those who did, like Archy, just didn't care to. Thus, the first days of Archibald's life of crime are full of uncertainties, only thing everybeast is sure of was that he was good at it, and those kinds of beasts were always valued highly in the unstable kingdom. The police, who only investigates crimes in the richer and somewhat peaceful areas, were struggling to solve various murders of high profile Alkamarians, from politicians and nobles to influential artists and scientists. It took them a few years to prove many of them were committed by the same beast, whom they come to refer to, along with many of his clients, as "Le Segure" ("The sure one"). Le Segure's clientelle was so widespread and afraid of his retribution, that even though most people the police interviewed knew and often saw and spoke to Archibald Rightsbeast, none of them gave up his name or description. While the inspectors were stumped and pulling their ears and tails, this didn't mean that Archibald Rightsbeast escaped the government's attention, not at all. The Alkamarian intelligence service was yet another of Le Segure's many clients, and they often outsourced killing and intimidation to him. In dismembre of 1765 however they would ask a lot more from Le Segure than anyone else did. For a great sum of money, half of which was paid in advance, he was to return to Vulpinsula, where they discovered one of their most wanted targets was hiding.
In Smarch 1766, Archibald Rightsbeast finds himself in Bully Harbor name. his fur is more representable, his fashion sense is smarter, he introduces himself as Anithias Reedom. And those who knew him from his days of training would notice that he also changed for the worse.
The first paragraph of Irene Rightsbeast's bio has additional context on the Rightsbeast family.
