Character Species And Sizes
Sizes
The Vulpine Imperium, generally speaking, breaks a bit from the traditional Redwall canon in that the species sizes work more closely towards regular human sizes than the anthropomorphic sizes portrayed in the book for balance purposes and other reasons. There are five sizes available for players to choose from, though the VI staff may create npcs larger smaller than these. Generally speaking, size is more for flavor than any appreciable roleplay benefit, so feel free to pick what feels right to you.

Species
The Vulpine Imperium, in its present incarnation, is now open to all of the species that can be found in the Redwall books as well as certain “exotic” species on a case by case basis. Regarding exotic species, a good general guideline for whether or not it will be approved is the weight class of the animal, with animals who average under 18 kg/40 pounds likely to be approved, animals between that and 25 kg/55 pounds moderately likely to be approved, and animals over 25 kg/55 pounds facing increasing scrutiny the higher you go. Let’s take wolves as an example. An Arabian wolf, Baffin Island wolf, or Mongolian wolf might be approved. A 90 kg/200+ pound Timber wolf or Dire wolf is not very likely to be approved.
