Character Creation Rules

Character Creation Rules

General Rules

1. Your character accounts must be named the same as your character(s).

2. Your character(s) are not immortal, they are not invincible, and they should have proper strengths and weaknesses.

3. All traditional Redwall species are allowed from woodlanders (aka the “good guys”) in the series to all vermin (aka the “bad guys” in the series). Exotic species (those not in the Redwall books) are generally allowed except for birds and fish who are non-sentient and sources of protein in the setting, but will require approval from the VI Staff. (See Species Section Below)

4. Please try to keep a decent color scheme for your character for the time period, this would be natural colors. Divergent furred/scaled characters are allowed via dyeing their fur and this will be allowed conditionally as long as it is tasteful, e.g. no rainbow colored characters or other designs aka “sparkledogs”.

5. You must list all your official combat skills according to the skill rank system described below, you may choose to do this for non-combat skills or you may not. You may generally choose any rank veteran or below without the need for VI staff approval, the highest ranks may need to be applied for in the ranking up thread or during character creation subject to staff approval. These are annotated by the (Restricted) tag next to them.

Skill Rank System

Rookie

Your character is in the beginning stages of learning a skill, in terms of combat think of this as someone who is a trainee perhaps just out of basic training. They are not seasoned and while they are somewhat better than a random civilian off the street with no training they still have much to learn.

Experienced

Your character has a decent grasp of a skill, in terms of combat this would be your average trained auxiliary/militiaman with fairly decent training beyond the basic level, capable of holding their own for a period of time and perhaps having survived a few engagements.

Professional

Your character is now proficient in a skill, in combat think that of an army/navy regular with extensive training and a fair amount of combat experience.

Veteran

Your character is now decidedly above average in a skill and has been practicing it for quite some time. In terms of combat they would be an experienced veteran who has survived more than a few engagements and can be trusted by others to be solid and know what they are doing.

Expert (Restricted)

Your character is now on the path towards absolute mastery of a skill. They would be noted as quite good and a tough opponent to handle in combat, think around the level of being an elite soldier.

Master (Restricted)

Your character is now regarded by all as having achieved typical mastery of a skill, and would be akin to something like an officer in an elite unit, even more skilled than their already extremely competent subordinates.

Imperium's Finest (Restricted)

Your character is now regarded as one of the Imperium’s leading masters in their field and may even be known to the general public as a household name. It is a distinct honor to be considered at this level, and if one is lucky, they may even receive accolades from the Ministers or even the Empress herself.
